Creating a Smarter Living Space: How This Prime Day Marks the Start of My Intelligent Home Journey

Prime Day is a perfect time to start building—or adding onto—your smart home, especially if you use Alexa.

It comes as no shock that there are a bunch of great Prime Day sales on smart home devices—besides discounts on televisions, you can always count on being able to buy a smart home hub or smart lights on the cheap.

But the sales never really tempted me. While the convenience of using a smart speaker or a phone to control my lights or remind me of something when I ignore my phone sounded nice, even on sale, the prices seemed too high for something I ultimately didn’t need. Of course, two devices that link together don’t make a complete smart home—but it’s a start, and if I like Alexa, I’ll surely be taking advantage of future sales to keep building it up.
